The third year Attractions & Theme Parks Management students are now finalizing their third and final year of Attractions & Theme Parks Management. With that comes the famous competency exam.
The competency exam is a test on how your personal development is going. The exam is a 30 to 40 minute conversation with two lecturers. How do you improve yourself, what have you done in the past to work on your network, what are your plans for the future? All these questions are asked and have to be linked to the competencies that were subjects during the two years of Attractions & Theme Parks Management:
- Hospitality & Guestology
- Storytelling & Imagineering
- Operations Management
- Finance & Revenue Management
- Marketing & Communications
- Change Management
- Research
In the competency exam, it is okay to let the lecturers know that one or two subjects weren’t the subjects that were close to your heart. And that is fine! You don’t have to be the best in everything that is lectured at the NHTV, as long as you know for yourself what your strengths and weaknesses are.
This self-knowledge will be tested and you will be graded with a 4, 6, 8 or 10, depending on how well you are doing on the exam.
How will you be doing on this exam? Do you think you are aware of your strengths and weaknesses? We would like your opinion on these questions! Please let us know on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
