“Hello everyone, my name is Romesh Popelier. Currently I’m doing my internship. Next to my study at NHTV I’m studying Mechanical Engineering in Eindhoven to reach my dreamjob in the theme park industry as a ride engineer.
At the Euro Attractions Show in Gothenburg last year I spoke with Jeroen Nijpels of JN Entertainment & Leisure Consultancy. Jeroen’s company represents different suppliers in the industry. One of them is Zierer, a German ride manufacturer.
At JNE&LC I can combine knowledge of both studies. One of my tasks is making new roller coasters in a special animation program to give the client an impression about the ride in a really short time frame.
My second assignment is a research in the whole sales, manufacturing and installation process of amusement rides. This all starts of course with sales.. That’s why we are in Dubai this week for the Dubai Entertainment Amusement & Leisure Show (DEAL).
Next to the trade show I’m attending the Blooloop conference, a TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) reception and a backstage tour at the construction site of IMG Worlds of Adventure.
My internship is almost halfway done, but there is still a lot more to come…”
